T-shirt design for LIS at UCM

Mock-up for a T-shirt, Library Science at UCM

One of the areas of my schooling where I focus attention is on my graduate program’s student organization. UCM’s Student Organization of Library and Information Services, also known as SOLIS, held its latest members’ meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

I was playing around with a T-shirt design for UCM’s LIS program; it is based on an existing shirt that I saw worn on Facebook, as well as upon similar designs that I viewed on the website for UCM’s Integrated Marketing and Communications. Basically, I was trying to copy UCM’s “standard template,” which helps “keep the UCM brand cohesive and streamlined.”

The shirt design came up for brief discussion on Sept. 19, including a mention of authorized vendors through which such a shirt could be marketed. Further discussions may help to finalize what will be our actual design. For example, do we want our shirts to say “Library Science,” or do we want the SOLIS logo?
