SOLIS’s meeting on Sept. 19 touched upon its first book-club discussion that takes place on Oct. 10.
Our inaugural selection, All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir, was the winner in 2022 of the National Book Award in its Youth Literature category.
I’m looking forward to our first book-club meeting, and I hope we can continue its momentum: either meeting once per semester or once per year (in the fall).
The National Book Foundation recently announced its Longlist for the 2023 award: so perhaps one of those titles will be our next Book-Club focus.
We could also focus on medal winners or honor books for the American Library Association’s Youth Media Awards.
