Each Friday that school is in session, I share the link to a read-aloud preview of a book from SRCSA library. The “First-chapter Friday” selection for Dec. 5, 2025 is The Teacher of Nomad Land by Daniel Nayeri.
In Iran in 1941, Babak and his little sister have just lost their father. To prevent them being separated, Babak takes up his father’s old job as a teacher to nomad tribes. The Teacher of Nomad Land was the WINNER, in 2025, of the National Book Award for Young People’s Literature.
