The Lost Year, by Katherine Marsh
Each Friday that school is in session, I share the link to a read-aloud preview of a book from SRCSA library. To wrap up the school (and programming) year for 2024-2025, this week’s preview is The Lost Year, by Katherine Marsh.
When 13-year-old Matthew finds a tattered black-and-white photo in his great-grandmother’s belongings, he discovers a clue to a hidden chapter of her past, one that will lead to a life-shattering family secret. Set in alternating timelines that connect the present-day to the 1930s and the United States to the USSR. The Lost Year was a finalist, in 2023, for the National Book Award.
