Santa Rosa CityBus : Young people ride for free

Young people can ride Santa Rosa CityBus for free, through the Unlimited Rides (UR Free) pilot program, which operates through Dec. 31, 2022.

The UR Free program began July 1. It provides fare-free rides for Santa Rosa youth on any of CityBus’s regular fixed routes, seven days a week.

Students in grades 9 through 12 simply show their student ID to the driver when boarding the bus. Expired student IDs from the 2019-2020 or the 2020-2021 school year will be accepted.

If the student does not have a student ID, they may acquire a special pass from their school or at the CityBus Transit Mall kiosk, located on Second Street in Santa Rosa.

Please bring a valid proof of age documents such as a birth certificate, passport, a State-issued ID or driver’s license, a Permanent Resident card, Matricula consular/consular ID card, military dependent card, or a medical benefit card.

Youth in grades 8 and under do not need an ID or pass to ride. However, if the school provides a student ID, then the student should show the ID to the driver upon boarding.

For more information, view the CityBus “Fares” page on the City of Santa Rosa website.
