‘Educational care packages’ for SRCSA students

Stacks of books arranged, at varying heights, on counter-top

My top priority during the past couple of days was helping to assemble what I like to think of as “educational care packages” for SRCSA students. I pulled sets of books out of storage and made them available for educators to send home with students along with work-packets that they can complete if necessary.

Our students have time off from school to look forward to, during next week’s spring break. As far as we know, things will resume as normal when we come back from break — but Santa Rosa City Schools, along with other school districts in California, has to prepare for school-closure scenarios JUST IN CASE something happens.

Important to note: as of March 10, 2020, “no student or employee of Santa Rosa City Schools has tested positive for COVID-19.” That information comes from SRCS’ website, which has up-to-date information about COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus.

The risk of Coronavirus at our schools REMAINS LOW, according to assurances given to SRCS by the Sonoma County Department of Health Services. And once again, as of the March 10 latest update, “no student or employee of Santa Rosa City Schools has tested positive for COVID-19.”
