“It’s time to take a new look” at what welcoming, inclusion and hospitality mean in Unitarian Universalist congregations, according to the Pacific Northwest District.
The UUA office of Multicultural Growth and Witness will re-envision the “Welcoming Congregation” for the next 25 years. The new Welcoming Congregation will encompass multiple identities “across race and ethnicity, abilities, class, sexual orientation, and gender identity/expression.”
As an autistic self-advocate who is also recovering from a short-term physical injury, this discussion could not be more timely.
How will UU churches demonstrate their acceptance of these multiple identities? What unique needs and gifts do these identities bring to their congregations?
