In the third- to fifth-grade division, titles include:

  • Gaby, Lost and Found by Angela Cervantes (2013)
  • Kizzy Ann Stamps by Jeri Hanel Watts (2013)
  • The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate Dicamillo (2006)
  • A Nest for Celeste by Henry Cole (2010)
  • Night of the Twisters by Ivy Ruckman (2003)

OBOB is run by volunteers through the Oregon Association of School Libraries and is partially funded through the Library Services and Technology Act.

Administrators select titles in three divisions each year, for students in third through 12th grades. According to the website, books are selected on the basis of interest, quality and availability. Books can have been previous OBOB selections but must not be repeated within at least four years of being on the list.
