Feminist Library on Wheels, irresistible combination of librarianship and bicycles

I’ve long been a fan of mobile library outreach; one of my projects in library school was to draft an argument for bookmobile services to the geographically spread-out population of a rural California county.

And as a bicycle rider, I’m even more enthused by library outreach on bicycle.

So the combination of librarianship and bicycle use represented by the Feminist Library on Wheels was an absolute delight to me.

As highlighted Aug. 7 by the League of American Bicyclists, Dawn Finley and Jenn Witte “are working to build a custom bicycle that will transport their ‘multimedia collection of feminist texts, artifacts and ephemera’ to a diverse audience throughout the Los Angeles area.”
