Is this a sign of things to come in public library service? Biblio Tech, a book-less public library, opened this week in Bexar County, Texas.

According to Bill Chappell, writing for the New Hampshire News, the Bexar County Digital Library “offers about 10,000 free e-books for the 1.7 million residents of the county, which includes San Antonio.”

People can access free eBooks and audio books through the 3M Cloud Library app.

Chappell added, “The library has a physical presence, as well, with 600 e-readers and 48 computer stations, in addition to laptops and tablets.” People can attend children’s story time and computer classes onsite.
